KUCHING, April 24: A 30-year-old man from Kuching is the latest Covid-19 fatality reported in Sarawak today.

According to the Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC), the victim had cerebral palsy, which affected his motor skills.


With this, the Covid-19 death tally in Sarawak now stands at 1,730.

Meanwhile, Sarawak recorded 112 new Covid-19 cases comprising 45 cases in Category 1, 65 cases in Category 2, and two cases in Category 5.

District-wise, Kuching registered 31 cases, followed by Sibu (20), Miri (20), and Bintulu (12).

Other districts with new infections were Samarahan, Serian (4 each), Mukah, Limbang (3 each), Sri Aman, Bau, Lubok Antu (2 each), Subis, Asajaya, Kapit, Betong, Simunjan, Tebedu, Lawas, Matu, and Saratok (1 each).

Sarawak has accumulated a total of 304,820 Covid-19 infections so far.
