3 including 6yo child injured in single-vehicle accident along Jalan Sepupok Miri

Firefighters are seen extricating a victim from the vehicle.

KUCHING, Jan 22: Three individuals including a child were injured in single-vehicle road accident along Jalan Sepupok Miri yesterday (Jan 21).

According to a report from Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) operations centre, they received calls regarding the incident from Malaysia Emergency Services (EMRS) 999 at 4.54pm and deployed firefighters from Bomba Batu Niah to the location.

The operation commander reported that the incident involved a Perodua Kancil that the three victims were traveling in, which had crashed into a telecommunications pole by the roadside.


One of the victims who is six-years-old, was taken out of the vehicle by members of the public before the arrival of firefighters, while the two other victims, both adults, were still inside the vehicle.

Firefighters proceeded to conduct a size-up before extricating the two victims through the driver’s door.

All the victims were later handed over to medical personnel from Ministry of Health (MOH) for further action.

The operation ended at 5.36pm after firefighters ensured that the situation was under control and safe. — DayakDaily
