KUCHING, July 16: Three were killed while another sustained severe injuries in a single-vehicle accident along Jalan Deshon in Sibu.
According to a report from Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) Sarawak operations centre today, they received the call regarding the accident at 11.34am and firefighters from Bomba Sungai Merah were rushed to the location.
“The accident involved a four-wheel drive (4WD) vehicle crashing into a tree on the roadside, and all four victims were pinned inside the vehicle,” it said.
It said firefighters then extricated the victims using rescue tools and stretchers.
“One of the victims was reported to be in a semi-conscious state and seriously injured, who was given initial treatment before being sent to hospital by an ambulance, while three others were pronounced dead by medical personnel at the location,” it added. — DayakDaily
