SIBURAN, Aug 25: A 29-year-old man was injured after the car he was driving crashed into a road divider along KM28 of the Kuching–Serian Road early this morning.
The Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) Siburan responded to the emergency call at 4.09am and dispatched a team of firefighters to the scene.
Upon arrival, firefighters found the victim trapped inside a Perodua Kenari after the vehicle collided with the road divider while travelling from Kuching towards Serian.
According to Bomba, the driver’s right leg was pinned in the driver’s door area, requiring rescuers to use hydraulic extrication equipment to free him from the wreckage.
The victim was successfully extricated using a spinal board and cervical collar before receiving treatment from Emergency Medical Rescue Services (EMRS) personnel at the scene.
He suffered an open wound to his right thigh and was subsequently transported by EMRS personnel to Serian Hospital for further treatment.
After completing rescue operations and clearing the accident site, firefighters ensured the area was safe before returning to the station. The operation concluded at 5.27am. — DayakDaily
