2,940 students in Limbang to receive Covid-19 vaccine

KUCHING, Sept 10: A total of 2,940 students aged between 12 and 17-years-old in Limbang will be vaccinated during the three-day long National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme (PICK) conducted in the district.

According to a news report from the Sarawak Public Communication Unit (Ukas) today, Limbang Disaster Management Committee (DDMC) chairman Ir Ahmad Denney Ahmad Fauzi said based on the breakdown of the number of students, a total of 1,496 of them are in Limbang, while 1,044 others are in Lawas.

ā€œWe also have found that a total of 108 students aged 16 to 17, were left out of the programme, where 66 of them were in Limbang and the rest are in Lawas.


ā€œSo the total number of students in Limbang division, age 16 to 17-years-old who are eligible to be vaccinated, including those between 12 to 17-years-old, stands at 2,940,ā€ he said when met by reporters after visiting the Covid-19 vaccination center (PPV) in Limbang Civic Center, today.

Denney noted that a total of 367 students from SMK Seri Patiambun, and 147 students from SMK Agama Limbang have been vaccinated at the PPV earlier today.

ā€œTomorrow (Sept 11), students from SMK Kubong (302 students) and SMK Medamit (252 students) will be receiving their vaccination, while for SMK Limbang (421 students), they will receive their vaccination on Sunday (Sept 12),ā€ he added. ā€” DayakDaily
