KUCHING, April 17: A 28-year-old man with no known illnesses from Bintulu is the most recent brought-in-dead (BID) case due to Covid-19 reported.
The Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) in an update today revealed the man’s body was brought to Bintulu Hospital on Monday (April 11).
The second Covid-19 death reported today involved a 75-year-old female from Serian who had dyslipidemia and autoimmune disease.
Meanwhile, Sarawak registered 119 new Covid-19 cases which consisted of 51 cases in Category 1 (no symptoms), 65 in Category 2 (mild symptoms), one in Category 3 (lung infection), and two in Category 5 (lung infection requiring ventilator support).
By district, Kuching remained the biggest contributor with 31 cases, followed by Sibu (21), Miri (20), and Bintulu (12).
Other districts with new infections included Samarahan and Serian (6 each), Limbang (5), Sarikei and Selangau (3 each), Matu, Sri Aman and Kanowit (2 each), and Mukah, Lawas, Belaga, Daro, Subis and Sebauh (1 each).
No new clusters were reported today, leaving only one cluster still active in Sarawak as of today. — DayakDaily
