KUCHING, Oct 26: Some 271 individuals were screened for Covid-19 during an active case detection (ACD) operation conducted at Premier 101 here by the State Health Department last night.

The State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) in a press statement today said all the individuals at Premier 101 who have been screened were awaiting laboratory test results.

The committee explained that the ACD was carried out by the State Health Department in collaboration with the agencies under SDMC following a Chinese national working there who was tested positive for Covid-19 on October 23.

Meanwhile, SDMC said there were four clusters of Covid-19 which are still active in Sarawak.

One of the clusters, Baki Cluster, has reported five new cases today.

With eight new cases already reported from the cluster previously, the total number of Covid-19 cases from the Baki Cluster has increased to 13 cases.

The committee disclosed that a total of 110 individuals from the Baki Cluster have been screened for Covid-19.

Out of that amount, the results of 13 individuals were positive while the balance of 97 individuals were negative.

The committee said there were no new cases emerging from the other Covid-19 clusters in Sarawak. —DayakDaily
