The prayer service was conducted by senior pastor Wagner Lagin.

In welcoming the Christian police officers, Wagner said they should be proud of their vocation as police personnel, and urged them to be faithful to their calling.

He also took the opportunity to thank and honour the police force for their work which he noted, can be life-threatening when one faces violence.

“Our police restore law and order so that public peace and harmony can prevail. For that, we are very grateful. Let us all continue to work together with them,” Wagner said in honouring the force.

Some 250 PRDM officers took part in the joint church prayer service to celebrate the 215th Police Day on March 29, 2023.

After the church service, hampers of dried food were presented to a number of less fortunate families, an initiative which was started by Kuching District Police Chief ACP Ahsmon Bajah.

Addressing those present, Ahsmon said the celebration to mark Police Day has always been a significant event in the history of the force.

He thanked BEM Kuching Evangelical Church for welcoming them this year to celebrate with a prayer service with blessings from God.

“I would like to express my greatest appreciation to all my officers for putting their lives on the line, for community well-being and preserving the peace.

“While we continue to shoulder the responsibility to ensure peace in Kuching city, I want to remind all of you to remain committed and determined to provide good services, for the sake of religion, race and country,” Ahsmon added. — DayakDaily
