KUCHING, July 24: A 23-year-old man was killed in a two-vehicle collision that occurred near the Sungai Nirai Bridge along the Pan Borneo Highway, Jalan Sibu-Bintulu, on Thursday (July 23).
According to the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), a call was received at 3.21pm, and firefighters from the Selangau station were deployed.
It was noted that the accident involved a Perodua Bezza and a Toyota Hilux, and no rescue operation was conducted as no victims were trapped in the vehicles. The victim was noted to have been in the Perodua Bezza.
“Firefighters assisted the police to transfer the body of the victim to the police vehicle, as well as to open the door of the Perodua Bezza to retrieve the victim’s documents,” said the department in a report, as reported by TVS.
The victim, identified as Chen Jiun Han, was confirmed to have passed away by police personnel. — DayakDaily
