KUCHING, May 22: A 22-year-old woman was killed in an accident that occurred near Kampung Angus at Jalan Persisiran Pantai Bekenu in Miri in the early hours of today.
In a report from the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), a call was received at 1.21am, and firefighters from the Batu Niah station were deployed.
It was noted that the single-vehicle accident involved a Perodua Axia driven by the victim, which veered off the road and plunged into a water-filled ditch among nearby bushes.
The victim was trapped inside the vehicle, prompting the rescue team to extricate the victim, who was found to be unconscious.
The victim, identified as Juwita Aishah Jublee, was then handed over to Health Ministry personnel, who confirmed her death. — DayakDaily
