KUCHING, Aug 17: A man was killed in an accident at Mile 9 of Jalan Kuching-Serian, here yesterday.
Kota Samarahan police chief DSP Brodie Brangka said the accident involving a motorcycle and a car is believed to have happened at around 5.30pm.
He said the victim, a 22-year-old motorcyclist, was on his way home from work to his home in Serian.
“The motorcyclist who was using the right lane had swerved while moving straight and was believed to be about to overtake the vehicle in front before colliding with a car that was about to turn right into the junction towards Unaco Supermarket.
“As a result of the accident, the motorcyclist was confirmed dead at the scene by medical personnel from the Ministry of Health,” he said.
The case is still under investigation and is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987. — DayakDaily
