KUCHING, Feb 23: A 22-year-old man sustained injuries following a single-vehicle accident along Jalan Demak Laut earlier today.
According to a report from the Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) operations centre, they received a call on the accident at 7.34am and despatched firefighters from the Petra Jaya station to the scene.
The operations commander reported that the incident involved a Perodua Viva that had crashed into a tree by the side of the road.
The victim, identified as Mohammad Nazrie Shah Azman, had to be extracted using special equipment as he was trapped in the driver’s seat and was reported to sustain facial injuries and a broken thigh bone.
He was given initial treatment by the Emergency Medical Rescue Services (EMRS) before being sent to the hospital for further treatment.
The operation was completed at 8.15am. — DayakDaily
