MIRI, Sept 7: Miri City Mayor Adam Yii Siew Sang together with Mirians are ready to extend their warmest welcome to Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah and Raja Permaisuri Agong Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah.
Their Majesties are scheduled to arrive in Miri on Sept 9, the first day of the Sarawak leg of Their Majesties’ “Kembara Kenali Borneo” tour.
Their Majesties are scheduled to make pit-stops at Miri Handicraft Centre, Kampung Pangkalan Lutong and Coco Cabana at Marina Bay.
Yii expressed his gratitude to the King and Queen for their readiness to reach out to the rakyat, especially the people of Sarawak and Miri in particular, during the tour covering most of Sarawak starting from the northern region and heading towards the southern region of Sarawak.
Yii said it is a golden opportunity for Mirians to meet and greet Their Majesties in close vicinity.
He cited the National Day 2023 Celebration on August 31 this year, when Their Majesties at the end of celebration, had mingled with the rakyat comprising school children, people of various races and others whom had joined the celebration.
The royal couple’s connection with their rakyat had received loud cheers and applause.
Yii said Their Majesties’ ‘Kembara Kenali Bormeo” tour has clearly shown that Sarawak is in their hearts. He also urged and encouraged property and business owners to voluntarily fly the Jalur Gemilang to express their love for Their Majesties and Malaysia. — DayakDaily
