SIBU, Jan 11: A 20-year man was charged in the Magistrate’s Court here today for raping an underaged girl.
No plea was taken from the accused before Magistrate Flavian Rafizenjat Sempun .
The accused was charged under Section 376 (2) (d) of the Penal Code for raping the 15-year-old victim around 11pm on April 10 last year at a house in Lorong Laichee.
The magistrate allowed the accused to be released on a RM8,000 bail and fixed Jan 23 for re-mention at the Sessions Court.
Those found guilty of an offence under Section 376(2)(d) of the Penal Code can be imprisoned between 10 and 30 years and shall also be liable to whipping upon conviction. — DayakDaily
