KUCHING, March 18: Twenty individuals have receives the citizenship decision letter on their application for citizenship status under Article 15A of the Federal Constitution.
According to a news report from Sarawak Public Communication Unit (Ukas) today, Minister for Women, Childhood and Community Wellbeing Development Dato Sri Fatimah Abdullah said the letter was given to them following the final decision made by Ministry of Home Affairs (KDN) on their application.
The letter was handed over to six recipients during a simple ceremony held in Miri on Thursday (March 17), while 14 others were unable to attend the ceremony.
Speaking after the handing over ceremony, Fatimah said considering that there are cases of applicants who do not claim their letter of approval for the application, she want the list of applicants who have been approved at the Ministry of Home Affairs (KDN) to be given to the state registration department (JPN) and her ministry.
She explained that her ministry will cooperate to help trace the names of those recipients who did not claim the letter through their KMKK (Ketua Masyarakat, Ketua Kaum).
She said this is because they are worried that the recipients have changed addresses, telephone numbers and so on. — DayakDaily
