LUNDU, Mar 16: Two more police reports have been lodged against “Puteri” who has allegedly protested against High Court decision on “Allah” and made extreme comments against other religions.

Brayian Tan and Pera Udak of Bulang Society under the leadership of its founder, Alim Ga Mideh today lodged two separate reports at Lundu Police Station.

Alim who made the police report yesterday at Bau Police Station said he did with the hope that an investigation may be initiated against the woman who called herself Puteri.

“It is also my hope that our action will stop this woman from continue to ruin the very essence of a plural society,” said Alim in a statement today.

In the almost 13-minute live session on March 11, “Puteri” claimed to be disappointed with the High Court’s decision to allow the use of word “Allah” in Christian Bibles and prayers, among other alleged calls for more extreme acts against those of other religions.

Kuala Lumpur High Court had on March 10 ruled that the non-Muslim community may use the word “Allah” in their preaching and publications.

The High Court said the community can also use the words “Baitullah”, “Kaabah” and “solat” for teaching purposes which the Malaysian government has banned for 35 years.

Puteri’s response on her social media ‘live’ session has prompted a series of counter-reactions where NGOs and individuals from different parts of Sarawak resorted to lodging police reports to demand an investigation on her.

Just yesterday, in Bau, numerous police reports were made at Bau Police Station under the Bulang Movement, that has about 1,000 members in Sarawak and consisted of non-governmental organisations (NGOs) such as Dayak Bukit Kelingkang, Pertubuhan Hak Asasi Sumber Alam Singai (HATS), YATT Society, Persatuan Adat Asal Bidoyoh, SMETAP Society, Sarawak Association for People’s Aspirations (Sapa) and Dayak Charity Association.

After the police reports were made, a press conference was called where some leaders made public statements on the subject. — DayakDaily
