KUCHING, May 18: Two men involved in the accident involving a Perodua Myvi and a Toyota Hilux at Jalan Bau-Serikin near Kampung Bogag in Bau this morning have died.
According to Bau district police chief DSP Dr Daram Ruer, the driver of the Myvi died while on the way to Bau Hospital. The second victim was the front-seat passenger who died while receiving treatment at the hospital.
“A report on the accident was received at 12.05 midnight,” he said in a statement today.
He said the accident was believed to have occurred when the driver of the Myvi, who was heading from Serikin to Bau, lost control of his vehicle and crashed into the Hilux, which was moving from Bau to Kampung Bogag.
“The case will be investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987,” he said.
He also urged those with information on the accident to assist by contacting the nearest police station. — DayakDaily
