KUCHING, May 31: Two Indonesian men were today put behind bars for 9 years and to be caned 5 times for committing armed gang robbery in Jalan Sultan Tengah on May 19 this year.
Sessions Court Judge Mohd Taufik meted out the sentence on Suparjo, 24, and Sumar, 22, after they pleaded guilty to the charge framed under Section 395 of the Penal Code and read together with Section 397 of the same Code.
The duo robbed Ee Siong Moi of a Samsung J8 handphone and RM80,000 cash at knifepoint at Jun Rong Office, Jalan Sultan Tengah, at about 9.30pm.
DPP Ruthra Raj prosecuted, while both accused were not represented. — DayakDaily
