MCMC chairman, Abang Johari discuss things digital during courtesy call

KUCHING, May 31: The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) has acknowledged the need to identify collaboration opportunities with the Sarawak government.

MCMC chairman Al-Ishal Ishak pointed out that the Commission deeply appreciates Sarawak’s vision to achieve a digital economy through the Sarawak Digital Economy Strategy 2018-2022.

Accompanied by Sarawak Multimedia Authority (SMA) general manager Dr Zaidi Razak, Al-Ishal led an entourage to pay a courtesy call on Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg at his office in Wisma Bapa Malaysia here today.

During the brief meeting, they also discussed the upcoming International Digital Economy Conference Sarawak (IDECS) 2019 on July 8-9.

MCMC and the state government will continue to work together in ensuring the communications and multimedia industry can be enhanced in line with the 5G technology and other technology advancements.

They also discussed the use of technology in industries such as agriculture and food processing. — DayakDaily
