[UPDATED] 2 Indonesian detainees escape from Tapah Police Station today

PADAWAN, June 12: Two Indonesian detainees escaped the Tapah Police Station around 1pm today.

This was confirmed by a reliable source via WhatsApp earlier.

Meanwhile, Sarawak Commissioner of Police Dato Mohd Azman Ahmad Sapri, in a statement recently, said the two suspects are identified as Kelvin, 21, and Bony, 31.


Both of them were from Jawa Timur, Indonesia.

ā€œBoth suspects are being investigated under Section 6(1)(c) of the Immigration Act after being detained by the Kota Sentosa police team on June 7 and placed in Tapah Police Station lock-up for further investigation.

ā€œThe police are currently locating the suspects, and all elements of the force have been mobilised for an Ops Tutup (roadblock) operation in Padawan district,ā€ he said.
