2 individuals claim trial to charges involving submitting false claims to SOCSO under PENJANA

KUCHING, Sept 26: A representative of DayaCop Security Services Sdn Bhd has claimed trial to 47 charges related to the submission of false claims totaling RM23,500 to the Social Security Organisation (SOCSO).

Desnee Hung Kah Yee pleaded not guilty to all 47 charges under Section 18 of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission Act 2009, punishable under Section 24 of the same Act and 47 alternative charges under Sections 471 of the Penal Code and has requested a trial.


The Special Corruption Sessions Court presided by Judge Steve Ritikos has set the date for the pre-trial case management (PTCM) on Nov 1.

Hung was allowed to be released on cash bail of RM15,000.

These charges were related to the submission of false claims totaling RM23,500 to SOCSO concerning the mobility allowance claims of the Employee Incentive Hiring Program (PENJANA) between May 2021 to July 2021.

In a separate case, Mohamed Nazeer Kudpudeen, the Manager of Sharifah Trading Sdn Bhd, faced ten charges under Section 18 of the MACC Act 2009, punishable under Section 24 of the same Act of the same Act and ten alternative charges under Sections 471 of the Penal Code.

These charges stemmed from the submission of false claims amounting to RM5,000 to SOCSO in 2021 in connection with the PENJANA.

Similarly, Mohamed Nazeer did not plead guilty to the ten charges under Section 18 MACC Act and ten 10 alternative charges under Sections 471/465 of the Penal Code and has requested a trial.

The court has scheduled the pre-trial case management (PTCM) for Nov 1.

The Court allowed Nazeer to be released on cash bail of RM5,000.

The prosecution was handled by Deputy Public Prosecutor Nur Nisla Abd Latif while Hung was represented by Counsel Francis Wee and Counsel Daniel Ling for Mohd Nazeer. — DayakDaily
