18yo feared drowned at Batu Mandi Beach, search ops underway

BINTULU, Nov 23: An 18-year-old boy is feared to have drowned while playing in the waters at Batu Mandi Beach this afternoon.

Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) Bintulu has initiated a search operation along the beach after responding to the emergency at 6.10pm.

It was reported that the victim, identified as Valentino Austin Richie, is a resident of Amoi Rental House.

He was last seen wearing long pants in the colours blue, white, and green.

The search operation involved several agencies, including the police, the Civil Defence Force (APM), and the Ministry of Health. — DayakDaily
