SIBU, July 27: A 17-year-old boy was killed in a fatal crash after losing control of his motorcycle and slamming into a road barrier along Jalan Sibu-Bintulu yesterday.
Sibu District Police Chief ACP Zulkifli Suhaili said the accident occurred at around 1.41pm, involving a Modenas Kriss motorcycle ridden by the victim who was heading towards Sibu town.
“Initial investigation at the scene found that the victim lost control of the motorcycle and collided into the road divider.
“The impact threw him onto the middle of the barrier,” he said in a statement issued at 9.45pm last night.
The teenager sustained severe chest injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
His motorcycle was badly damaged, especially in the front.
A police report was lodged and an investigation paper has been opened under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for causing death by reckless or dangerous driving. — DayakDaily
