KUCHING, June 8: Police apprehended four men and a 17-year-old girl on suspicion of robbing a teenage boy in Kampung Lintang, Serian on June 5.
According to Serian District Police Chief DSP Aswandy Anis, the Serian District Criminal Investigation Division (BSJD) arrested all the male suspects, aged between 22 and 29.
The teenage girl was taken into custody to assist with the ongoing police investigation.
“The victim was initially contacted by one of the suspects’ girlfriend, inviting him to meet at a location for a potential purchase or sale of a silver bracelet.
“When the victim arrived, he was immediately apprehended by the four male suspects. They confiscated the victim’s mobile phone, RM550 in cash, as well as the silver chain and bracelet he had on,” Aswandy said in a statement today.
Subsequently, the victim filed a police report.
Acting on received information, the authorities apprehended all the suspects on June 7.
Additionally, they seized a Perodua Axia car that was used by one of the suspects, along with the victim’s mobile phone.
All the suspects have prior criminal records related to robbery and drug offenses.
Furthermore, urine screening tests conducted on the suspects returned positive for drug use.
Currently, all individuals are being held at Serian police station, and the investigation is being carried out under Section 395/397 of the Penal Code. — DayakDaily
