KUCHING, Oct 25: A 17-year-old pregnant teenager from Bintulu was among 18 Covid-19 fatalities reported in Sarawak today.
The Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) in its daily update on the Covid-19 situation in Sarawak said the teenager was among three Covid-19 deaths who passed away on Oct 21 while 17 other Covid-19 patients passed away between September 12 and October 24.
One Covid-19 death each was reported on Sept 12, Oct 11, Oct 17 and Oct 19.
The patient who passed away on Sept 12 was a 95-year-old woman from Bintulu who required assistance in her daily life.
On Oct 11, an 89-year-old woman from Limbang who had hypertension and dyslipidemia passed away from Covid-19.
On Oct 17, a 70-year-old man from Bintulu who has asthma also passed away from Covid-19.
On Oct 19, a 74-year-old man from Sibu who had hypertension, diabetes and chronic lung disease also died of Covid-19. He was brought-in-dead (BID).
Meanwhile, three deaths were reported on Oct 20. They involved a 97-year-old man who had hypertension and heart disease, a 61-year-old man who had hypertension, diabetes, dyslipidemia, chronic lung disease and liver disease and an 87-year-old woman who had hypertension and chronic lung disease, all from Sibu.
Three Covid-19 deaths were also reported on Oct 21. They comprised a 49-year-old woman from Limbang who had hypertension, diabetes, dyslipidemia, heart disease and last stage kidney disease patient, a 73-year-old woman from Betong who had hypertension, dyslipidemia and chronic kidney disease and the 17-year-old pregnant woman.
On Oct 22, one death was reported involving a 59-year-old man from Sarikei who had hypertension, diabetes and chronic kidney disease.
On Oct 23, three deaths were reported. They consisted of a 55-year-old woman from Kuching who had hypertension and diabetes, an 86-year-old woman from Samarahan who had hypertension, diabetes and dyslipidemia, and a 65-year-old woman from Bintulu who had hypertension, diabetes, dyslipidemia and final stage kidney disease.
On Oct 24, four Covid-19 patients passed away. They comprised a 66-year-old woman from Bintulu who had hypertension, diabetes, and chronic kidney disease, a 69-year-old man from Bintulu who had hypertension, lung disease and stroke, a 61-year-old man from Betong who had hypertension and diabetes, and a 71-year-old man from Samarahan who had hypertension.
The overall Covid-19 death toll in Sarawak now stands at 1,221. ā DayakDaily
