168 residents from 3 villages in upper Bengoh dam get first dose of Covid-19 vaccines

KUCHING, July 18: Some 168 eligible villagers from three villages in upper Bengoh dam, Padawan received their first dose of Covid-19 vaccines yesterday.

The villagers from Kpg Muk Ayin, Kpg Nyegol and Kpg Sting received the vaccination during the Vaccination Outreach Programme conducted by 10th Mile Health Clinic and Bra’ang Health Clinic.


Assistant Minister of Transport Datuk Dr Jerip Susil, who  was present at the programme, said the response from the villagers was overwhelming.

“I am glad to note that the villagers are happy and very receptive to be vaccinated that will help us with the programme to prevent the Covid-19 as mentioned by Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas,” he said.

Dr Jerip, who is also Mambong assemblyman, added that the programme went smoothly and the villagers were eagerly waiting for the second dose.

According to him, the second dose of vaccination to the three villages is scheduled on Aug 7.

The programme yesterday was assisted by police, Bomba personnel and volunteers.

Present was also Sarawak Administrative Officer (SAO) from Padawan sub-district office Julius Scott Sapong.

Meanwhile, a similar programme is held today at Kpg Sapit in upper Padawan. — DayakDaily
