Mr Sarawak Bodybuilding Championship returns after two-year absence

MIRI, June 28: Sarawak’s biggest bodybuilding competition is back after a two-year absence with Miri City set to play host for the 56th Mr Sarawak Bodybuilding Championship.

According to Miri Division Bodybuilding Association (MDBBA) president Cheyenne Muris during a press conference earlier today, the competition would be held this coming Saturday (July 2) at Boulevard Shopping Mall, Level 3, Jalan Miri-Pujut.


“This time around we have a total 32 athletes in three divisions namely Kuching (9), Sibu (11) and Miri (12) having confirmed their participation for this event, including Mohd Hafizul Tuah who won the Champ of Champ Final Mr Malaysia 2018,” he told members of the local media here.

A total of nine categories would be contested with the winners in each category going on to represent Sarawak in the upcoming Mr Malaysia, scheduled to be held sometime in August this year in Alor Setar, Kedah.

The competition is set to kick-off at 1pm until 5pm.

Members of the public are welcome to watch the event.

Sarawak Bodybuilding Association president Dato Wee Hong Seng who is also the Kuching South City Council (MBKS) mayor is expected to grace the event.

Also present during the press conference were MDBBA secretary Martha Mervy Kulen and its acting treasurer Abdul Muzafar. — DayakDaily
