16 compounded for flouting SOP

MIRI, Oct 9: A total of 16 patrons were slapped with a RM1,000 compound each during police checks at pubs in Permyjaya recently for flounting Restricted Movement Control Order (RMCO) Standard Operation Procedures (SOPs).

Miri Police Chief ACP Lim Meng Seah warned that the police will continue to conduct checks to ensure patrons of entertainment outlets fully comply with SOPs to curb the spread of Covid-19 failing which they will be issued with compounds.

“During the police check at bistros and pubs on Thursday night (Oct 8) for example, we have issued seven compounds to those flouting the SOP,” Lim revealed when met today at a press conference at Miri Central Police Station (CPS).

“Do not be complacent and always practise SOP,” he stressed.

Malaysia enforced the movement control order on March 18 to curb the spread of the Covid-19 virus. — DayakDaily
