KUCHING, May 20: A 15-year-old local boy was killed after the motorcycle he was riding skidded and crashed into the left shoulder of the road at Jalan Tun Haji Abdul Rahman Yaakub in Petra Jaya at 1.30am last Sunday (May 18).
In a statement, Kuching district police chief ACP Alexson Naga Chabu said the victim was believed to have been riding from the Samariang roundabout heading towards the SESCO roundabout.
“The victim was pronounced dead while receiving treatment at the Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) due to severe head injuries,” he said.
The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for causing death due to reckless driving.
He also advised road users always to remain cautious and to adhere to the traffic regulations when driving. — DayakDaily
