KUCHING, Nov 8: A Form 3 male student was killed after the motorcycle he rode on crashed with a car at Kilometre 9, Jalan Lawas–Punang, on Friday (Nov 7).
According to Lawas police chief, DSP Liong Tindan, the 15-year-old victim sustained severe injuries to his head and shoulder at around 12.33pm.
“When the victim reached Kilometre 9, Jalan Lawas–Punang (near Kampung Sungai Kudong), at a bend, he lost control of the motorcycle, veered into the opposite lane, and collided head-on with a car,” he said in a TVS report.
The victim was pronounced dead while receiving treatment at Lawas Hospital at 1.30pm, while the car driver was uninjured.
The victim’s body has been taken to the Lawas Hospital mortuary for a post-mortem.
The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987. — DayakDaily
