KUCHING, June 25: A total of 1,500 residents in Pulau Bruit have received their Covid-19 vaccine through a 10-day Covid-19 vaccination centre (PPV) “outreach” programme for the local community.

According to a news report from Sarawak Public Communication Unit (Ukas) today, a total of 120 individuals have also been successfully vaccinated in the same programme which was held at Kampung Betanak Health Clinic, on Thursday (June 24).

So far, the vaccination process for the locals in Pulau Bruit went smoothly and the Phase 3 of the vaccination programme, which targets more vaccine recipients, is expected to begin in early July.

As of now, the PPV “outreach” programme secretariat is still in the process of identifying the high-risk recipients, including those with comorbidity and the elderly, who have been left out from the vaccination programmes conducted earlier on. — DayakDaily
