KUCHING, March 23: Democratic Action Party (DAP) Sarawak today handed over 1,500 N95 masks to Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) to help address the shortage of medical supplies.

Bandar Kuching MP Dr Kelvin Yii in a statement today revealed the masks were sourced through public donations to assist the hospital’s frontliners and medical staff.

“Since the surge of the number of Covid-19 cases in Sarawak, DAP has been actively sourcing for essential supplies and materials especially for our frontliners and healthcare workers.

“We are still working hard to source for more of this essential equipment to help our hospitals and clinics deal with this pandemic,” he added.

Dr Yii pointed that the frontliners have given so much to the public and it is only right that the favour is returned.

He emphasised everyone has a collective responsibility to take care of one another and the best way is for the public to stay at home, and to abide by the Movement Control Order (MCO).

“This will not only help curb the spread of the virus but also help ease the burden on our medical workers so they can fully concentrate on those that really need treatment.

“We would like to thank all the donors and also all the frontliners for their commitment, hard work and sacrifice for us all. Day in and day out, they carry out their responsibilities diligently to make sure we are protected and taken care of,” he added. — DayakDaily
