MIRI, March 24: Fifteen youths aged 15 to 28 suspected of performing dangerous stunts on their motorcycles and engaging in speed racing were detained in the vicinity of Tudan Road, in an operation dubbed Ops Samseng Jalanan conducted early this morning.
According to Miri OCPS ACP Alexson Naga Chabu in a statement today, all of them were arrested during the six-hour operation which commenced at 12.30am.
During the operation, the youths were spotted performing ‘wheelies’ apart from engaging in speed racing with one another, he said.
The case is being investigated under Section 42(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987. — DayakDaily
