141 warnings, notices issued for SOP violations over 24-hr period

KUCHING, Sept 16: The Local Government and Housing Ministry has issued 141 verbal warnings, warning notices and seizure notices in the past 24 hours throughout Sarawak.

State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) in a statement today, disclosed that 45 notices were issued in areas under the jurisdiction of Sibu Municipal Council (SMC), Bintulu Development Authority (BDA) (39), Marudi District Council (34), Kuching North City Hall (DBKU) (12), Serian District Council (5), Kota Samarahan Municipal Council (KSMC) (3), Miri City Council (2) and Sarikei District Council (1).

Police also issued two compound notices—one each in Bau and Sarikei—for Covid-19 SOP violations.

Under Ops Benteng with six roadblocks mounted in the districts of Lundu, Bau, Serian, Sri Aman and Lubok Antu, a total of 824 vehicles were inspected.

SDMC also reported that compliance checks were also carried out on 1,608 premises throughout Sarawak involving 168 supermarkets, restaurants (289), factories (22), banks (103), government offices (58), hawker venues (41), markets (62), houses of worship (159), recreational areas (40), construction sites (19) and others (647). — DayakDaily
