14 out of 26 new Covid-19 cases nationwide from Kedah clusters

KUCHING, Aug 15: Malaysia recorded 26 new positive Covid-19 cases today, in which 23 individuals are locally transmitted cases and another three are import cases.

Ministry of Health (MoH) revealed that the cumulative number of positive Covid-19 cases nationwide as of today was 9,175 cases.

With that, the total active Covid-19 cases which are subject to transmission have since yesterday increased to 219 and the patients are being isolated and treated in hospitals.

Out of the 26 new cases today, 14 of them are from the recent Kedah clusters namely the Cluster Bargain (10 cases), Cluster Sala (three cases) and Cluster Muda (one case).

The ministry, in a Facebook post update today, also reported six Covid-19 patients with local transmission from Kuala Lumpur, two each from Negeri Sembilan and Penang besides one each from Johor and Perlis.

As for the three import cases, the individuals were returnees from the United States, Vietnam and Austria each.

Besides that, the ministry also stated six positive Covid-19 cases that are receiving treatment in the intensive care unit (ICU) and one case needing respiratory assistance.

He also noted three recoveries in the country with successful discharge amounting to a cumulative number of 8,831 recovery cases recorded. —DayakDaily
