MIRI, April 1: An unexpected visitor stunned a family of six in Kampung Siwak Jaya in Bakam yesterday.

The 14-feet-long king cobra had slithered into the wooden house, terrifying the occupants. One of them immediately called up the Miri Civil Defence Force (APM) for help.

In the 4.55pm incident, the residents were home as it is the movement control order (MCO) period, with most of them sitting in the living room watching television until someone shouted upon seeing the hefty reptile entering the house.

No one was injured in the incident.

A team of APM personnel arrived at the scene, located at about 30 minutes’ drive from the city centre.

It took them for about 60 minutes to capture the reptile and secure the house. — DayakDaily
