KUCHING, Oct 14: Thunderstorms, heavy rain, and strong winds are expected in 14 districts in Sarawak until 6pm today.
Malaysian Meteorological Department (METMalaysia), in a Facebook post at 3.15pm today, said the affected areas are Kuching, Serian, Sri Aman, Sibu, Kanowit, Selangau, Kapit, Song, Bintulu, Tatau, Sebauh, Miri, Marudi, and Limbang.
The department said that a thunderstorm warning is issued when there are signs of a thunderstorm with rain intensity of more than 20 mm/hour that is close to or expected to last for more than an hour.
It added that a thunderstorm warning is a short-term warning valid for a period of not exceeding six hours for a single release. — DayakDaily
