KUCHING, June 2: A search is underway for a 13-year-old girl who is feared to have drowned at Sungai Katibas, Rumah Robert, Nanga Bajor, in Song today.
According to a report from the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), a call was received at 5.28pm and firefighters from the Song station were deployed to the scene.
The operations commander reported that the teenage girl, Puteri Nazatul Akmal Zulkarnain, was reported missing and feared to have drowned after playing in the river with her brother and three friends.
The operations release team (PKO) and villagers conducted an initial search along the riverbank up to 100m, but after discussions with the police and the victim’s family, the operation was suspended at 6.30pm and will resume tomorrow morning (June 3). — DayakDaily
