KUCHING, Oct 2: Sarawak registers 2,121 new Covid-19 cases today of which 13 are categorised as critical.
State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) in a statement said of the 13 cases, three patients (0.14 per cent) are in Category 3 who develop pneumonia but can still breathe on their own, four patients (0.19 per cent) in Category 4 need oxygen supply, while six Category 5 patients (0.28 per cent) need a ventilator to breathe.
Meanwhile, the remaining 2,108 new cases or 99.39 per cent are in Category 1 (no symptoms) and Category 2 (mild symptoms).
“There are 483 cases (22.77 per cent) are in Category 1 while 1,625 cases (76.61 per cent) are in Category 2,” it said.
SDMC also mentioned that Kuching district took the lead in number of cases with 899, followed by Miri (200), Sibu (153), Bintulu (88), Sarikei (86), Samarahan (78), Belaga (67), Sri Aman (64), Limbang (55), Kanowit (44), Saratok (41), Mukah (39), Bau (35), Betong (34), Serian (33), Kapit (31), Lubok Antu (27), Pusa (21) and Asajaya (21).
Districts registering less than 20 new cases are Lawas (16), Daro (16), Subis (13), Song (11), Julau (9), Pakan (7), Tanjung Manis (6), Matu (5), Tebedu (5), Lundu (3), Meradong (3), Simunjan (3), Tatau (3) while Kabong, Bukit Mabong, Selangau, Telang Usan and Dalat recorded one case each.
Three districts, namely Marudi, Beluru and Sebauh, did not record any new cases today. ā DayakDaily
