KUCHING, May 19: Sarawak today achieved another entry into the Malaysia Book of Records (MBOR) for the largest number of people in ethnic attire in a choreographed dance performance.
A total of 1,275 participants danced the ‘poco-poco’, a distinctive dance beloved by Sarawakians, to ‘Biar Bekikis Bulu Betis’—an Iban song by Andrewson Ngalai which is extremely popular among Sarawakians and is commonly played at functions and events throughout the region.
Clad in beautiful and mesmerising traditional costumes of various ethnic groups in Sarawak, the participants executed the dance performance at Kuching Waterfront here.
At the end of the dance performance which lasted for about four minutes, MBOR officials finally gave their green light for the setting of the new record.
