114 arrests nationwide for violating CMCO: Ismail Sabri

KUCHING, May 29: A total of 114 individuals have been arrested throughout the country for not complying with the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) as of yesterday, said Senior Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.

According to Ismail Sabri, 86 of the individuals have been remanded, and 28 others released on police bail.

“A total of 433 individuals were also issued with compounds for various offenses which is against the CMCO implementation.


“While for Aidilfitri visit, no compound was issued by the police,” he said in a daily Covid-19 (non-health) press conference held at Putrajaya, today.

On another note, Ismail Sabri said three flight services have been scheduled by the Ministry of Higher Education (KPT) in order to send a total of 1,193 university students back home.

He said the flight from Kuala Lumpur to Kota Kinabalu will be carrying 287 students, followed by another from Kuala Lumpur to Sibu with 166 students, and one flight from Kuching to Kota Kinabalu, which will be sending 166 students back to their home town.

He also clarified that all the students had undergone swab tests at their respective universities before being sent back to their hometowns.—DayakDaily.
