KUCHING, Nov 5: The Public Works Department (JKR) has completed 42 healthcare facility projects worth RM4.2 billion from 2022 to date, says Works Minister Dato Sri Alexander Nanta Linggi.
He said the achievement reflected the continued commitment of the Ministry of Works (KKR) and JKR Malaysia to delivering quality public healthcare infrastructure for the benefit of the people, in line with the MADANI Government’s development agenda.
In a Facebook post, Nanta stressed that there would be no compromise on quality, safety and timely completion in the implementation of projects.
“KKR remains committed to the Zero Sick Projects target and encourages earlier completion through the Ahead of Time (AOT) approach,” he said.
He said the ministry remained committed to ensuring that public infrastructure projects were delivered according to the required standards while encouraging contractors to complete them ahead of schedule.
Nanta made the remarks after attending the handover ceremony of the Letter of Acceptance for the construction of a new Women and Children’s Block at Melaka Hospital, together with Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad.
The RM609.69 million block, with a capacity of 476 beds, is expected to cater to between 300 and 500 patients daily upon completion. – DayakDaily
