Zero new Covid-19 cases in Sarawak, only one active cluster in Bintulu

KUCHING, Sept 15: No new Covid-19 cases were reported in Sarawak for the third consecutive day today, thus maintaining the state’s tally at 700.

The State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) in a statement today disclosed that only one cluster remains active in Sarawak, which is the Alam Cluster in Bintulu with one active case.

Seven patients under the cluster have already recovered and been discharged from hospital.

SDMC also revealed that there were also no recoveries and discharges recorded today and as such, the total number of recovered cases in Sarawak is maintained at 678 or 96.86 per cent of total Covid-19 cases so far.

Three patients are still receiving treatment in hospitals throughout the state with none admitted to Intensive Care Units (ICUs) or requiring respiratory support.

There is one patient each in Bintulu Hospital, Sibu Hospital and Miri Hospital.

Sarawak also reported three more Persons-Under-Investigation (PUI) with no cases pending laboratory test results.

In addition, 30 more Persons-Under-Surveillance (PUS) have checked into identified hotels to undergo quarantine.

As of today, there is a total number of 724 individuals undergoing quarantine in 11 hotels throughout the state. — DayakDaily
