Zero Covid-19 cases reported while Kuching, Serian remain yellow zones

KUCHING, Dec 5: Kuching and Serian remain Covid-19 yellow zones as Sarawak sees zero positive cases today.

State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) said Kuching reported two and Serian one local transmission cases within the past 14 days, thus the yellow statuses.


With zero Covid-19 cases reported today, the cumulative number of Covid-19 cases stays at 1,068.

Similarly, no new clusters have been detected, with only four active clusters left in Sarawak. They are the Besi Cluster (12 cases), Jalan Abell Cluster (15 cases), Greenhill Cluster (91 cases) and Wisma Saberkas Cluster (44 cases).

SDMC also reported zero new recoveries who has been discharged from Sarawak General Hospital, thus the cumulative number of Covid-19 recoveries in Sarawak remains at 1,034 or 96.82 per cent of total recoveries.

“Today, there are four new person-under-investigation (PUI) cases and zero cases awaiting laboratory test results,” it added in the Covid-19 statement today.

It also said that there were 402 person-under-surveillance (PUS) who were registered into various hotels across Sarawak to be quarantined.

Currently a total of 4,351 individuals are under quarantine in 39 hotels throughout Sarawak while 36,285 PUS have completed their 14-day quarantine. — DayakDaily
