Zero Covid-19 case with 45 new PUI in Sarawak

KUCHING, June 26: Sarawak reported zero positive cases of Covid-19 today but witnessed 45 new cases of person-under-investigation (PUI).

The information was disclosed by State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) chairman Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas during a press conference here today.


With no new Covid-19 case reported, Uggah asserted that the cumulative number of Covid-19 cases in Sarawak remained at 570 cases.

ā€œThere were 45 new PUI cases while one PUI case is pending laboratory results.

ā€œThere are 16 patients who are still being treated at the isolation ward in the hospital while there are no recoveries today.

ā€œThe death toll remained at 17,ā€ he said during the press conference at the Old State Legislative Assembly building here today.

On another note, Uggah who is Deputy Chief Minister said the State Health Department has issued a compound to a woman in Miri for declaring false information in her health declaration form upon her return to Sarawak recently.

He gathered that the woman was found to be positive Covid-19 upon her return from Tunisia recently.

Thus, Uggah who is Second Finance Minister advised the public to be truthful in disclosing their health information to the authorities because it is important for the people to cooperate with the state government in fighting the Covid-19 pandemic in Sarawak. ā€”DayakDaily
