Sarawak Minister of Youth, Sports and Entrepreneur Development (MYSED) Dato Sri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah presented the prizes to the winners after the event.

According to SLTA president Dato Patrick Liew Chin Joon, after hosting J1 (J300) tournaments in Sarawak for over 10 years, he intends to hold a Grade A (J500) tournament in the future.

The J500 tournament is a grade below Junior Grand Slams — the most prestigious event for junior tennis.

Following this, Abdul Karim said his ministry would support the SLTA in its undertaking by upgrading the necessary facilities for tennis competitions that would put Sarawak on the world’s map for tennis. — DayakDaily
