KUCHING, Oct 18: A jobless man pleaded not guilty to the charge of raping his underage girlfriend.
The 21-year-old accused pleaded not guilty to the charge framed under Section 376(1) of the Penal Code.
Sessions Court Judge Jason Juga allowed the accused to be released on RM10,000 bail with two local sureties.
The case is set for case management on November 23.
The accused was charged with raping his 15-year-old girlfriend at a house located in Kota Padawan sometime between November 2020 to January 2021.
The victim got pregnant after the incident and gave birth to a daughter.
A DNA test for the infant girl confirmed that the accused is her father.
