MIRI, Feb 28: A young mechanic passed away in a fatal self accident just past midnight after his car crashed into a huge concrete pipe along Mile 5 of Jalan Miri Airport.
The young 28-year-old self-employed mechanic died on the spot in this accident which occurred near the Miri 12th Batallion General Operations Force (GOF) camp.
According to Sarawak Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department chief Supt Alexson Naga Chabu, the accident occurred at 12.02am of Feb 28 and the victim has been identified as Wong Yei Yang.
Alexson disclosed that at the time of the accident, the deceased was travelling from the city area to Bintulu and his car lost control upon reaching the accident site.
His body has been taken to the Miri hospital.
The case is being investigated under Section 41 of the Road Transport Act 1987. — DayakDaily
