KOTA SAMARAHAN, June 27: The Works Ministry will review the method of implementation for the Pan Borneo Highway in Sarawak and Sabah, due to the recent change of federal government.
Its minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof said, “the ministry has yet to finalise the method as it is still under discussion at the ministry level and we will then forward it to the cabinet.”
Sarawak Public Works Department (JKR) will be appointed as the main implementer to expedite the project.
Fadillah also revealed that the Pan Borneo Highway in Sarawak is almost 50 per cent completed.
Due to the enforcement of the Movement Control Order from Covid-19, construction works were halted for about three months.
He added that construction has resumed under the Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO) and current standard operating procedures (SOP) in compliance with the government.
“Pan Borneo Highway Sarawak has 12 packages in total. Two have already complete, while the remaining 10 are on going,” Fadillah said after attending the earth breaking ceremony for the upgrading of the Jalan Datuk Mohammad Musa project today.
