In a Facebook post, Nanta, who is also Kapit MP, expressed appreciation for the trust placed in him to carry out the duties and functions of the Minister of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives.

“In addition to my duties as works minister, I will undertake this appointment with full commitment to ensure the continuity of operations and smooth functioning of the entrepreneur development and cooperatives ministry (KUSKOP),” he said.

Nanta also acknowledged the contributions made by Datuk Ewon Benedick during his tenure leading KUSKOP.

“I am committed to ensuring that the ministry’s work proceeds in an orderly manner and that ongoing policies can continue for the benefit of entrepreneurs, small and medium enterprises (SMEs), cooperatives, and the people as a whole.

“I look forward to working closely with all agencies, industry partners, and stakeholders to ensure the smooth administration of KUSKOP during my tenure in this role,” he said.

Last month, Ewon resigned from the Federal Cabinet, citing a matter of principle over the federal government’s stance on Sabah’s 40 per cent revenue entitlement. — DayakDaily
